WHAT IS THAT LOWING OF CATTLE THAT I HEAR?

Cow Mooing
Read: 1 Samuel 15:2-15 and Matthew 7:18-21

King Saul protested his innocence to the prophet Samuel after raiding, and not completely destroying, a town as commanded by the Lord.

As he was speaking to Samuel, saying he had indeed destroyed it all - including the livestock - a cow mooed. And Samuel asked, "Then what is that lowing of cattle that I hear?"

Cookie
Have you ever protested your innocence to the Father and heard a cow moo?

Did you ever declare through crumb-covered lips that you didn't take that cookie from the cookie jar?

King Saul had his own agenda and claimed that partial obedience was enough because later he would sacrifice some of the spoils to God. God saw it differently and tore the kingdom from Saul's hands.

Partial obedience isn't obedience at all - it's convenience.

Apple Tree
The Lord Jesus said that the test of a tree is its fruit: Good tree - Good fruit. Bad tree - Bad fruit.

It's not what we say, but what we do that reveals who we are.

Integrity before God and man matters very much.

Pray: Lord, may my actions match my words today and bring You pleasure and glory.
